Hi loves it’s Monday and I’m back to the grind… at home that is. Let’s be real this pandemic is making everyone rethink how we love daily. From grocery shopping, communicating and working. If you… More
What better way to kick off this week than to intertwine women’s history month and Black history month! You can never be to late to celebrate and honor these great occasions! Today I am honoring all of us! Why because you deserve to be celebrated too! Did you know that everyday when you wake up you make history..better yet SHE-Tory! Why because you contributed to society, God gave you the breathe of life to make a difference. Sometimes you don’t realize that just by you saying good morning with a smile to stranger can make that persons day! Sometimes it’s the small things that count instead of the big tings.
Growing up I used to say I wanted to graduate from a prestigious university with a 4.0, land this executive position where I could wear those fly business suits with the red bottom heels, Chanel bag, shades and my perfectly manicured nails and har! Boom! that was me. Turns out none of that happened but instead I have tried to make a difference in other ways.
- supporting friends and family
- showing up for work on time (you know it’s a struggle)
- Being the women that God has called us to be!
- Creating More Than A Girl Boss (more details to come! In the meantime get on the list)
Let me take a minute and brag on my girls. Daniesha not only runs I Am Dani Smith, hold down a full time job and is a mother to a growing prince she also is a freelance photographer and owner of Dani Smith Photography. Kisha is always making a statement from head to toe and many of you can probably guess that this fashionista was already made to run her own boutique and that’s exactly what she does! Not only is she a health care professional, mother, and runs Kisha Rose you can definitely keep up with all the in trend style by getting treasured with Kisha Rose Treasures!
My girls are on the move and are making a difference and statements in their own way! It’s not easy multitasking and handling multiple jobs.. this is why I created More Than A Girl Boss! Head on over to subscribe and learn more about How I Ayesha Emanee is making a difference!
How are you contributing to the everyday uplifting of women and your culture!? Let’s get into these outfits details. My girls Daneisha and Kisha wanted to snag these super cute and colorful African Print sweaters hits that are still on sale! We decided to each style this sweat sweat that truly respects our style. I just love how my girls stay true to their style. Just an inside tip we never tell each other what or how we are going to style the one piece we are collaborating on. However when we get tougher bam.. it’s magic! Don’t yawl think we killed these looks! I sure do. Find out all the details on Kisha and Daneisha’s looks! All blog are linked.
As far as my look I wanted to truly play off the different prints that are in represented but the patchwork in the sweater. I decided to put on a bow blouse underneath the sweaters hit and tie two bows! Bam had to double it up for drama! You all know I love leopard print so I tied in my booties and a leopard print bag. I decided to be on trend with these leather joggers that are super comfortable and affordable. As you can see we all wore leather bottoms without even telling each other, but that just means how much you need to go and snag yourself a pair of leather pants, skirt or shorts! Leather is hot! I usually don’t talk about my hair but yawl this ponytail was only $13 from my local beauty supply. I will leave the link below..Looking for drama this pony will give it to you!
It’s Monday Fashionista’s own this week and make She-Tory!

Hey ladies, happy February, Black History, no spend and love month! That’s right this month is jammed pack with goodies. First up is some thrifty style inspiration. February is the shortest month so why not start a challenge. A “No Spend Challenge” thats right. I and my girls are on a no spend “clothes” fast. Would you like to join? IT;s easy.. you can’t buy any new clothing items this month you must shop your own closet. This should be easy and hard at the sometime. As well know Winter sales and Spring new arrivals are among us. One may argue that I don’t need any new clothes which is half way correct. Last year I donated 10 bag of clothes and sold items on Poshmark. So.. I may need to purchase a few summer items.. Stayed tuned for summer finds.. of course after February.
Here’s a fun fact… my blog is based off the items that are in my closet. I started this blog when I was in between jobs. It started off as some thing just to do in sure time and keep my mind busy. But I realized there’s another whole community through this and I absolutely love it! This no spend challenges is honestly getting me back to the true foundation of my blog. If you would like to join the #nospendchallenge. Simple use our hashtag to let us know you are in! We will support you and share our daily struggles and updates on how it’s going. The object is simply to save instead of constantly being a consumer. Lord knows a lot of us are in debt from student loans, credit cards, mortgage, cars…bills…bills and bills. So I think everyone could save a little and spend less.
So let’s dive into these outfits. Thrifting is not new to me, as I just haven’t [reviewed it here on the blog as much. Let me know if you would like to see more shifted items and how I style each piece. I love to shop consignment and thrift stores. Wherever I can get the best deal, I am there!
Many of you know I love prints, animal just so happens to be one of my favorite. IF you follow me on Instagram, a few weeks ago I found this blazer at The Goodwill for $6. Leather pants are a good 5 years now from TJMaxx, my Nike sneakers are from DSW and bought before I had my surgery last year. They were expensive but by far one fo the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. You get what you pay for! Belt is super old and the top underneath that you can barely see is last 2 seasons ago Gabrielle union sweater with leather detail on the front.
My heels are from JustFab and once again already was in my closet form several seasons ago. Don’t laugh but my sunglasses are on their last leg as I need to order more before the Georgia sun becomes blinding. I styled this look with heels or sneakers to give you an option as I am still not walking in heels yet. Yes a long recovery after the surgery I had last March.
Granny Smith or Should I say Dani Smith Inspired!
Lately my girl Dani Smith has been rocking her thrifted pieces and has been setting the shift bar high on Social media! I have had this skirt in my wardrobe for quite sometime and thought now is the perfect time to rock this look. It’s simple but classy. This 100% wool tweed skirt as purchased at The Goodwill for $5. The sweater I already had and my Liz Claiborne Boots are fromJcPenney 3 seasons ago for $19. I added a leopard print belt and bag which is a Gucci dupe for added character and thats it! Simple cute and ready to go!
I encourage you to visit your local Good will and shift stores, I guarantee you will find some gems… well not this month maybe next month?
Until next time xo Happy Fashion Divas.

A New Year and decade is upon us. Are you ready to have 20/20 vision in 2020? Let’s be real for a second we are all currently writing down our new years resolutions, getting our New Years outfit together to hit the town all glitz and glammed up. I have many outfits I can put on to drink some bubbly and party hard until the clock strikes midnight. Thats what New ears is all about right?
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-17
Not quite in my eyes, A new year, a new beginning a new start or is it taking what you have learned from the previous year and applying it to the next. Or is it just another year to stay alive, to fight thorough, to turn goals and dreams into reality. Or is just another year to plan an extravagant vacations, to dine in the most lavish restaurants, hotels, to buy expensive purses watches or to snap many selfies and see how many like you can get on instagram and Facebook? Let’s just take a minute to truly reflect what a New Year means.
To me its God promises and vision that he has for us individually. A new Year to praise him harder, to give thanks for the smaller things to be able to even take another breath and to eat your moms delicious sweet potato pie again. Okay okay maybe not the pie part. For a new year is actually just another day, because God renews us daily. Allow him, he will strengthen you, teach you, walk with you if you have that listening ear. He will give you that 20/20 vision to see things differently and all the blessings that he in 2020 has and will bestow upon you. Don’t get me wrong see is not believing and believing is not seeing, we all know it’s truly hard sometimes but that’s the joy “to walk in darkness is to walk in the light with the lord!”
I have had many visions and dreams, in 2020 I truly plan to execute some of my most wildest dreams God willing. What are some of your 2020 goals? here are a few of mine below:
- Start a business
- workout (I’ve said this so many times..but I truly plan on becoming more…fit?)
- Stress and worry less
- Be on fire for the lord
- seriously get my blog off the ground (stop playing you know you are a boss)
Remember you don’t need glasses, or even eyes to see when you have God, he will always give you 20/20 vision to see! Happy New year Divas. May the lord bestow your wildest dreams on you this year. Love you all for the love and support!

Hey ladies, yes it’s been forever since I have written a blog. But why not come back the last month of the year. I am determined to finish it off with a blast!Whelp we are in full swing of the holiday season. If you follow me on Instagram I hinted that December is one of my favorite months. I will be sharing why and starting off my 12 days of holiday glam outfits this month as well. So buckle up and hold on tight cause I plan to make this December a bang.
Growing Up Without Christmas
Only my closes friends know that I absolutely love December because of Christmas. It’s not just the gifts, or the holiday cheer that gets me all in a frenzy, however there’s a deeper meaning behind it. I grew up muslim, not barely celebrating any holiday’s besides thanksgiving and my birthday only because my mom demanded my day to allow us too. However deep in my soul, I knew one day I would be Christian. When my parents officially spilt when I was in High school my mom asked what would you like to do. I said please take me to church, and that she did. We attended and soon became members of her childhood church Bethel A.M.E Methodist Church in San Diego California. I was soon baptized and even joined the youth choir. Please don’t ask me to sing as i really can’t but I definitely put on a solo concert for friends and family lol!! Anyways. I ventured down the new Christian path with my best-friend Vanessa. We both shared similar struggles going up as we held onto each other tight and allowed God to blossom through us!
From there of course Christmas was filled with more than a meaning of just gifts but a true estimate of What God brought me through and who I was becoming. This may sound odd but the death of my parents marriage was the birth of my spiritual connection to God. I truly think my other for heeding to God’s voice and listening and knowing that she had to move in another direction in order to give her children a future.
The entire month of December brings me warm and fuzzy cheerful delight with my family and friends. Although my brothers and sisters all live in different states, that never stops us form talking just about everyday. The holiday season tends to bring us closer together as we share a special bond and cherish this month for it’s a different meaning of light for our family.
What makes you most happy about this season? Do you and your family have any special traditions? I’ll share one of mine. Every year at midnight when the Clock strikes 12 and it is Christmas day, I get up bless the house and read the birth of Christ. We pray and may even sing a song a two. I actually started this tradition years ago and now has carried on with my husband! I am eager to hear what it is you all do?
So let’s get into this first holiday look. This is definitely a little bit of old and new mixed together to create the perfect pop! Starting form head to toe. You all have seen this luxe green velvet blazer that comes from my favorite New years shopping place… cough cough Dillards of course. Pairing it with this fuzzy mixed with velvet bow with a bling broach adds the perfect touch for the top! No necklace needed! I purchased this sweater from Poshmark but it still available at Zara. Who doesn’t like gold trousers. I do. I’ve been searching high and low for the perfect gold trousers and of course New York & Company came through. I topped this look off with a pair of patent black loafers or of course my matching green velvet heels.

Pants: Skinny leg | Trouser fit
Hey divas it’s the season when we start racking up our sweaters, cardigans boots all the fall and winter weather. We all know winter fashion can be expensive. But I have a severed that will blow your mind.
I have cut back on buying clothes and only purchasing the things I need or or…. if there are items that I find for super cheap that I just can’t resist. Hey why not! Well the truth is Poshmark has been my best friend for the past couple of months.
Poshmark is an online thrift store for new and used items. You can shop anything from shoes, clothes, accessories to house hold items don’t forget kids and men’s items. Once you’re signed up familiarize yourself with the app. Figure out how to like and bundle items from sellers closets. Also there’s an option to offer the seller a cheaper price for their item/items. Don’t forget you can also sell your gems and use the earnings towards another purchase or cash out your earnings.
I like to search for brands that I know the quality will hold up of used. My top searches recently include Michael Kors, UGG, Zara, J Crew, and Goodnight Macaroon just to name a few. Many sellers have brand new items discounted. I have racked up many new items for as low as $10 that is regularly $60.
If you are going to purchase used sweaters or shoes make sure you ask to see a close up of the sweater from the seller. Sweater tend to get those little knot balls this can tell you the condition the sweater is in and if it’s worth the price the seller is asking for it. For shoes if used ask to see the bottom and inside of the shoes if not already posted.
If you’re paying for a used name brand item you’re going to want to get this as close to new and in the best condition for the best price. Do not purchase the first item you see hit the like button and keep searching. There are usually 3-5 listings of the same item you’re looking at. Some will be new and used. Please note that some sellers do post junk and are just trying to get money. If there are stains scratched etc or of the soles and inside of the shoes look totally worn purchase at you’re own digression. This is the same for any clothes.
The fun about Poshmark you as a seller can name your own price with your items and as a buyer you can bargain with the seller!
Now let’s get into this outfit! So… this entire outfit is from Poshmark except the blazer. This lovely ruffle tulle from sweater is from the loft. The seller said she had only worn once and to be honest there were no signs of it being worn. I was able to snag this sweater for only $10. These plaid pants are from Topshop only worn once. The material is a thick Cotten and are high waisted. I love these beauties are they fit perfectly and are great for fun or work! I purchased these pants for $11. In my eyes the real steal are these faux leather Michael Kors sneakers. I feel like I stole these lol no but I only paid $20 for these brand new!! What a steal. I was beyond excited. My military olive green blazer just adds the perfect pop to this outfit. I got this beauty form New York and Company for only….. $9 on clearance. You know I love a good deal.
So when it came down to it I technically only paid $41 for this entire outfit. Keep in mind you will have to pay for shipping not unless the seller offers you discounted or no shipping. The best thing to do is to ask the seller for discounted shipping or no shipping. If you don’t ask you may never know!
Oh yes yaull asked for my hair to be big well the humidity was disrespectful to my hair lol. So boom I served this Poshmark look with my wild hair.
Happy Hump Day and stay fashionably cheap!
Happy Monday Divas! I’m feeling refreshed and revitalized today. I have some goals to work on this week and I plan to accomplish them. I can honestly say that this year has brought me many “mini breakdowns” so I am thriving to do better with controlling my ups and downs and looking at the downs as ups and the ups as UPs!
It’s Monday and we often get what we call the Monday Blues.. I don’t know why but everyone praises Friday for the weekend.. However Friday is the end to Monday and Monday allows us to start of fresh. We should praise each day like it’s our last! Today’s motivational quote comes from Charles R. Swindoll. He states that “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.”
I totally agree! Far too often I have flown off the handle and literally spiraled out of control i my mind with anger, sadness, beating myself up or whatever the situation may be.. my reactions were totally uncalled for. I have even taken it out on the people I love. or just snapped lol.. I am laughing now but it’s not funny in the mist of it because not everything “bad” that happens is truly bad. It can be a warning sign and a blessing from God!
Since I have been trying to look at all things positively, it has changed my mindset to feel “stress free.” Instead of living on the edge and living more in line with that God has for you even if that means something doesn’t go your way it’s okay because there’s always a better plan right down the road!
I thought I would do a Monday shot mixed with business and casual. Why because that’s how our minds are! Well at least mine is. We still want to have the comfort of the weekend but with our game face on!
My houndstooth red and black blazer is from my sis Kisha this was a vintage thrifted item I found on her site at Kisharosetreasures.com. Chic out her website as she has awesome apparel and jewelry! By the way this is not an ad just one boss queen supporting another! Of course I had to find a Monday t-shirt.. why not it’s Monday! This t-shirt can be found at Fab’rik along with so many other other cute designs. I decided to put this look with a pair of tuxedo chinos form the express.. These pants were giving to me from a friend! However I have linked some styles down below. My cheetah print sneakers tie this entire look together and yes they are form Fab’rik as well! Don’t see your size there’s tons of inventory in a Fab’rik store near you.

Hey ladies, I’ve been a bit MIA trying to start some new business ventures, trying to dive into some new job opportunities and of course trying o maintain this blog and content for you all. I admit I have been failing at it horribly but I haven’t given up.. Hey sometimes we need a break and then to get back up and try again. This year has been rough but I am trying to plan for the months ahead and hit 2020 with a bang. Yep already projecting out 2020.
I just wanted to share with you ladies that over the weekend was my 2 year wedding anniversary with my superhero.. my husband Benjamin. What a joyous milestone to accomplish and it feels so wonderful!
I wanted to share with you all my outfit details. I originally bought this 2 piece nautical outfit from Zara unfortunately it’s sold out but don’t worry I found the same outfit on Shein! I like to call this a status print with the nautical rope and chain detail. It’s absolutely stunning and can easily go from day to night.
You all know I love a good two piece outfit and I am still not ready to get into my high heels since my surgery. The top is actually a sheer tank top with a cape overlay. It adds an elegant touch to this outfit. The pants hit right at the ankle and has a side zipper. the over all material is satin and polyester but feels so silky and comfortable. The best thing about this was that it didn’t make me hot! Perfect for summer and fall.
Are you ready for fall ladies?

Hey divas, how are you doing out there in this blazing heat? No joke I’m so irritated because I want my hair braided so bad, I want to rock a baiting suit 24/7 and drink pina colads, eat fresh fruit, seafood and fruit all day lol. I know random request but maybe that my #hotgirlsummer. Let’s get into this outfit
Look 1: 70’s Flashback
I just love a cute blouse that can be worn as multiple ways and this one is perfect. First up this lovely pink snake print blouse can be worn on or off the shoulder like I am here. It’s from New York & Company and it’s a very light weight material that can be easily transitioned into the fall. I paired this blouse with these high waisted flare legged Eva Mendes jeans. ladies these jeans fit me like whoa, however although they are true to size they are very long. So if your short like me either wear heels or have them altered! Since I’m not back into my heels yet i opted for these blushing pink Michael Kors tennies that I snatched from TJMaxx. Did you peep my matching little belt bag that’s also MK. that was a super find at TjMaxx as well. DOn’t forget my cute sun hat that’s from Walmart. You all know I love a good sun hat especially on these extremely hot summer days.
Look 2: Cali Vibes
I call this my cali vibes only because I am wearing pink shorts ha! Pink shorts for some reason remind me of my birth place cali. Maybe because my mom always had pink.. always talked about pink shorts or maybe just because! Anyways This year I made it a point to get me some pink shorts and these matched perfectly with my blouse. These shorts are high waisted which make them perfect for crop top and for tucking in cute tops like this. I wanted a chill look so I keep my same accessories!
It that’s simple. Remember don’t be afraid to mix and match one article of clothing you have to create different looks. This is how you achieve the look of having more than what you actually have in your closet. Trust me I have gone years with mixing and matching and I always get your closet must be huge.. do you spend your entire paycheck on clothes.. No No No, I’m just good at faking it till you make it and in my eyes I have made it.. maybe not to the tip top but I am exactly where i’m supposed to be. Okay divas until next time stay sweet!
Xo Happy Fashion!
Don’t judge me! Hey divas happy Monday and you know I am diving into the nitty gritty about judging. We are half way through this month and to be honest it’s been a rough year for me. Trying to stay consistent with my blog, work and home life. Along the way I have judged myself and have often wondered how people view me.
You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. Romans 2:1
Is it ok to judge others? Let alone yourself? Of course we know the answer to this. It’s a big fat NO! We aren’t called to judge others or put unhealthy pressure on ourselves. I have been judged many of times weather I was judged by my hair, the clothes I wear, the way I talk. The list goes on and I’m sure it does for you as well. The ultimate issue is if you’re confident in who you are you will to allow what anyone think or feel of you bother you. This is easier said than done.
I often still struggle with my own thoughts and what people have said about me. However I am learning to use those negative attributes and turn them into positive attributes in my life. Weather true or not I try to use anything as motivation to do and be better. How are you trying to live your life judgement free?
Let’s get into this outfit. You know I love a good jumpsuit. But this one is extra special as it can be dressed up or down. It is a satin. Material with wide leg with pleating, v neck with buttons and a simple flutter sleeve. The length of this is long, however I normally would wear heels with an outfit like this. I am still recovering from my surgery so I opted for a pair of leopard sparkly slides. To top of this fun flirty look I grabbed my leopard print bag and shades. Oops did I fail to mention this look is from Fabrik and slides are from TJMaxx Steve Madden brand.
Have a good day xo Happy Fashion Divas.

Hey divas! Can you believe that July is almost over? Thats right and one of my favorite months is coming up.. Cough Ouch August.. Why? Because it’s the month I was married. This year will make 2 years.. whoot whoot! Not only will I be celebrating my anniversary but my sister will be getting married this coming Sunday. We making magic in August. So with that being said you know i will be blogging the fun road trip form Atlanta to Virginia.. and all of the wedding madness.. you know all the good stuff.
Since it’s Monday it’s time for a little bit of Faith & Fashion.
“Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.” John 15: 20 KJV
Do you remember the day when you could stay up late, party hard and wake up early? Don’t get me wrong I’m not that old yet, however I definitely have no desire to do any of that anymore lol. SO my routine looked a little bit like this… IN COLLEGE!
- Wake up early
- eat breakfast
- go to class/or work depending on the day
- have study sessions in between classes/ or tutoring sessions on weekends
- attend praise dance practice on Wednesdays..
- THURSDAY-SUNDAY….. is now a blur ahhaha
- okay seriously thought I still had class but sometimes the party would start on Thursday’s and wouldn’t end till Sunday.. not that same party of course but there was always a party.. either a campus party. your bff’s dorm room party.. a Frat/Sorority party… you know the party that homeboy that his ex girlfriends grandmas house which is right around the corner house party.. The all white party.. the shorty short party.. okay okay you get the picture.. So what can I say I had fun. Well to be honest my sister and I and Bff were always the designated driver because we had a car so we were known as the sober girls.. lol
- Stayed up till 2 studying went to IHOP with the L7’s (a nickname for my crew back in the day)
- Monday=Do it all over again
So this horrible college routine only lasted 1 year and half.. I am proud of that cause that life is rough.. Not healthy and definitely not what my momma was supporting me for. However It didn’t take me too long to realize that there’s more to life, college, and me than this type of lifestyle. Thats when I decided to take hold of my actions and buckle down and let the noise go! Meaning the parties, the people that were toxic, and anything that was spiritually unhealthy!
When I made this ultimate shift in my life I that’s when I could see me against the world. I was no longer friends with friends I thought were my girls.. unnecessary drama broke out because I chose not to party or entertain anything less of my new morals and values. I decided to to take a stand for me and for what God had for me.. Honestly at that time I had no idea what God has for me but i knew it wasn’t this or these people.. So today I can honestly say that when you are not of the world .. the world will be against you and you will always have God standing with you. Yes I can look back and laugh on my wayward college days and nights but I look at it a testament to myself that I couldn’t have come this far without my faith and God! Often to many times we get tangled in the trends, society and what we think we should be doing.. This is clearly called being a follower. We are called to lead and be the light not to live in darkness.
My linen jumpsuit can be found at Fab’rik along with these oh so comfortable black slides. I love a cute kimono it’s perfect for summer days or to throw something over you arms if there’s a cool breeze! Kimonos can be found just about anywhere including Walmart.. yep don’t sleep on Walmart. Head on over to Fab’rik now as these items are still on sale. Are you moving forward in style this year? Today take a stand for you!
