Only a couple more hours until my weekend officially starts.. But in the meantime.. I will sit behind my desk and share with you these wicked outfit details.. I am calling this outfit wicked.. because teal is a mean color! Mean because it’s hard to find but it’s such a lovely color! Iv’e been grabbing this color off the rack every time I see it..
Ladies I love to recycle old pieces with new that’s exactly what I did here. I adore this white and black striped sweater dress from JcPenny. It’s far from new but it’s a great neutral piece that pairs well this any color. Vests are great for fall, winter and in this color was a must have. I love the quilted detailing along with the pockets and black trim that outlines the vest! It’s not to heavy nor light. It’ is insulated with a nice lining giving you that extra warmth on a breezy day. Let’s just take a moment of silence for these boots..
Okay so these boots.. are of course are from JustFab. the heel height is perfect. the faux suede is great quality. very comfortable and the color.. you already know! Surprisingly.. the calf width is not extremely large for my skinny leg.

As promised, I committed to sharing fashion details from my wedding!!! You all know I am classy glitz and glam type of gal.. and having the perfect reception shoes were a top priority! I searched high and low.. Google, Pintrest, and went to the mall to find the perfect comfortable reception shoes.. I didn’t want something that was ordinary and definitely didn’t want to change into another pair of heels.. I was ready to boogie on down the dance floor!
During my search I came across these rose gold sparkly “Kate Spade” Keds on Pintrest.. We all know that when you come across something on Pintrest 9 times out of 10 the item is gone or there is no significant link. However I instantly googled these shoes and BAM! there is a Kate Spade wedding line on Keds.com!
Sneakers was on the top of my checklist for comfort, rose gold matched perfectly with my color scheme, the ribbon laces and the sparkles.. It was love at first sight! I was willing to pay whatever price for these gorgeous shoes. That $80 price tag hit me hard knowing that I had other wedding expenses. Now you know your girl does everything on a budget. If you sign up with Keds.com they give you 10% off coupon. I also received a another coupon in my inbox which I was able to use. I ended up spending $50 for the perfect wedding reception shoes.
I felt so alive in my shoes, as I danced the night away with my price charming.. Divas these shoes come in an assortment of colors. I would love to purchase the other colors!
BRRR… who felt that cold breeze this morning? Sometimes my best motivation is getting up and putting on “feel good” clothes.. That means a sophisticated look! Iv’e been in my chill mode lately and have not been featuring any of my classy looks!
I swear Eva Mendes always gets me right! With her timeless elegant looks, I truly have weakness for her designs. I am loving the color teal right now, as it’s one of the must have colors for fall and winter 2017! I actually have a similar all burgundy and a all white skirt and top assemble like this teal one. This cable knitted skirt loves to hug…or make you look like you have curves! The skirt is very stretchy and comfortable and honestly it’s the perfect length. I opted for the sleeveless ribbed turtleneck shell and draped with bell sleeve zip up jacket! This look can be worn with booties, pumps or like I did with these opened toed JustFab heels. I love adding prints with solids to give the look for character. xo Happy Fashion Divas!

Ladies have you been wondering about the top 5 must have boots or booties for your closet this fall and winter? Reluctantly I already had a few of these in my shoe-drobe.
Velvet: This trend is always in style however it has taken this fall by storm! Velvet is also being offered in “crushed” velvet and a variety of colors such as burgundy, black, pink, blue and taupe. Combat boots below are from GoJane.
Floral’s: Flora tops, Floral skirts you must have floral shoes! We are taking a journey through the the 70’s with the velvet and floral trend. mix them together and you have the perfect pair! You will find floral prints everywhere this season. Floral prints are a great way to take any basic outfit to stylish! Boots below are from DSW.
Knee High: I love knee high boots unfortunately it is hard for me to find boots that fit my skinny leg.. If you are skinny like me there’s 2 options. Buy a knee high boot that doesn’t not involve zippers or extra material. You can take you boot to any shoe repair to have them fit to your leg. Or you can buy a pair Sam Edleman boots from Nordstroms. He designs knee high boots for skinny legged women like me. Knee highs are great for over jeans, under mini skirts and shorts!
Shooties: Shooties are great for taking your wardrobe from Summer to Fall.. or Winter to spring. I can never wear shooties in the winter as I am always cold… My toes would be frozen by the time I make it down the street. Shooties often add a sexy look to any outfit. It has just enough coverage and exposure to say hey.. look at me! Boots are from JustFab
Embroidery: My honest opinion about this trend can go from classy to trashy real quick! Embroidery is such a classic look, however I feel like some of the summer pieces that were out were very cheap looking! I tried not to venture to far into this trend as it seems like it will come and go very fast. Try to stick with your classic embroidery prints instead of the trendy ones. Boots below are from JustFab.
Who remembers the hit 90’s show called “A Different World”? let me run it back for you.
It’s a different world,
It’s a different world,
Than where you come from
Than where you come from
However this TV show was more than just a black sitcom. It was a mere glimpse into black society, our views, vision, our culture and history that many people do not know. I was just a young tot when this show aired but I knew that this show did not depict African American’s as hoes, thugs, jail burgs, dope heads or a low life. Yes there are real African American American Families that have education, yes there are African American’s that have both parents at home, yes there are African American families where both parents have jobs.. and not just a job but a career, doctors, lawyers, directors, many among the prestigious community. This show showed African Americans from all era’s, the arts, the struggle of why, who, what, when and where.
Hillman College was not just a dream but it became reality for me when I was accepted to Norfolk State University in 2005. NSU is one of the few colleges that African Americans were allowed to attended. I entered as a freshman Spring of 2006 and the rest was history. I could not be more proud to attend a HBCU ( Historical Black College). A college that stood for power, strength and overcoming a true challenge and gaining something (education) that was stripped from us generations ago. Below is a snippet of Whitley one of the main characters explaining why she choose to attend and HBCU.
So I am sure everyone wants the details on this outfit after this history lesson! Starting from top to bottom. As you all know I love burgundy, so I opted for the burgundy Hillman sweatshirt, it also comes in grey and burgundy. I decided to spice it up by adding my leopard print Michael Kors blouse underneath. I thought this gave the perfect edge. I kept it pretty basic on the bottom with a pair of jeggins and my burgundy hounds-tooth velvet print sneakers from JustFab! My accessories include a matching quilted purse and my shades from NY&CO. I had a lot of fun with this look as it took me back to my undergrad years! If you purchase any items from Hillman Book Store, they make you feel as if you were just accepted to college. Your order will arrive with the item you purchased, an acceptance letter, a freshman class flyer and a sticker. How cool is that!
Below are pictures of me and my sister, along with our family and my best-friend on our graduation day! All of my siblings have a bachelors degree, Masters and a PHD (c)! Education in our family it is a huge success and one to be celebrated!

I am in the mood for Fall cleaning? Does anyone do this? I do especially when I need to pack away my summer clothes.. I need to clean and refresh my clothes but also my mind. As we enter the fall and winter season I love to take the time and reflect not only on the year but the upcoming months. I often like to make new long and short term goals. I said after I get married I wanted to start zumba and become more active! honestly I was waiting for my best friend to move here so we could start 🙂 okay so that a lame excuse for my lazy butt. Maybe in the near future that will happen. Until then get to cleaning out all the old and in with the new!
I am still in love with my wedding colors! Blush pink and wine.. My wardrobe is really starting to look like a little girls dream. Keep it simple and light with knit sweaters with lace detailing. I love this look as it’s simple but adds a sweet little touch to your outfit. Bomber jackets are perfect for the fall season. they are not to heavy and not to light provides you with just enough coverage for a cool breeze. This velvet bomber has gold hardware that ads the perfect pop! I kept this look simple with a pull on pair of jeggins and my oh oh so fresh wine ribbon lace faux suede boots! Ladies aren’t these boots hot, fresh.. I feel like dancing.. okay let me get it together. An outfit like this is perfect for the weekend!

I’ve been in this graphic tee, sweatshirt mood for fall and winter.. I usually and constantly in “dress up” clothes as many people love to tell me. So I have been on a search to add chill looking pieces to my wardrobe. I found this Screen sweatshirt that has the words “Brilliant” tagged on the front with black studs. It hits perfectly against the grey color. the selves of this sweatshirt has a balloon effect which provides great detailing to this look.
My black pants are lined with studs down the side. These jeans are more stiff not legging material.. which helps keep me a bit warmer in fall and winter. I topped this look off with my black stud and lace heels. This outfit is pretty grungy, as I think it works since we are getting more into the colder months.

It’s October! I felt the first fall air yesterday.. and you know I was not ready. This month is very significant as we honor Breast Cancer survivors and any loved ones that have passed away. Today’s blog, I am giving you an alternative look to being a survivor! Maybe more like Destiny Child vibe!
Starting from head to toe, I found this quilted bright orange Lands End vest form my favorite upscale consignment store! It is so warm of course lined and even has a pocket on the inside. I just love orange or pink with Camouflage so I knew I would be pairing this skinny stretch camouflage pants from NY&Co. These pants are so comfortable and provide you with enough stretch move around all day in. I told you I am all about comfort these days. I love combining prints with prints and what other great way to pairs the camo print with a screen T-sweat shirt! I found this sweatshirt years ago at Burlington to represent my Californian roots..
To complete this look I opted for these high heels timberland looking boots.. of course they are form JustFab! Ladies when I tell you this boot is so comfortable.. girl.. you see m eyes… This bootie is 4 inches but feels more like 3.. this is because they put a nice platform that creates comfort for your feet. For my accessories I wore my favorite JustFab tote bag and a pair of NY&Co shades..
