Hey divas is your wardrobe fall ready? Yes, no, maybe. Well if you are looking to elevate your wardrobe this fall and winter the Gabrielle Union Collection exclusively at New York & Company is a great starting point.
I’m kicking it off with this royal blue and black knit striped dress. Ladies let me first off by saying the quality is amazing and so is the fit. This dress will definitely hug every curve on your body.
I love dresses like this as they are easy and always make you look like you put effort into your outfit. I decided to pair this dress with pops of color such as red and white. I added these red vibrant earrings, red shades and a color block chevron print bag. My shoes are old from JustFab but are such a classic as they give the stripe effect to my feet!!!

I’m every women it’s all in you!!!! I am giving you true girl power on today’s blog! I am truly honored to have the opportunity to collaborate with 4 beautiful women. We all came together as the “Fab 5 Fashionistas” to style different pieces from the Gabrielle Union collection exclusively at New York & Company. We truly are representing Gab Unions theme: #ALLTOGETHERNOW. Each of us have very unique backgrounds stories of how and why we became fashion bloggers. This couldn’t be more fitting to share I and how each of styled a piece form this line. So let’s get right into it.
My outfit selection is very special as today is my 32nd Birthday! Whoot Whoot so happy and thankful to God for allowing me to see another year. I chose the puckering pink jumpsuit. As I’m such a girly girl and can’t stay away from pink. This jumpsuit looks like a 2 piece as it gives a high waisted pant look with the functional buttons down the middle. Wide leg culottes are trending right now and are a must have for this spring and summer! I decided to keep this cool and simple as I paired it with one of my favorite Sam Edleman espadrilles from DSW. All of the vibrant colors make this outfit just pop even more. Staying along with this easy look I chose my blue straw side satchel and my white sunnies from Ross. Bam outfit made easy!

Sometimes we don’t realize where we find our inspiration from and other times we just follow the trends. Each year as I get older I count my blessings and realize how much I am becoming more like my mother. Not just by the way I look, but how I pair my outfits.
I am keeping it simple on today’s blog with this eyelet white maxi dress. I bought this last season from New York & Company for my honeymoon. I didn’t have the chance to wear it as it was extremely hot in St. Lucia. This maxi dress is delicately made as it has eyelet laces, crochet and comes with a lining! Awesomely made. I decided to pair this dress with my blue and white nautical stripe wedges from Justfab. Let’s not forget I love a good sun Hat. Keeping along with the fresh nautical theme this blue and white strip hat is the perfect match! Don’t like hats? throw on a cute pair of sunnies. Basket weave purses are trending right now and I just so happen to have one in blue from TJmaxx.
As I was looking through some family photos, I came across this picture of my mom in this white maxi dress. I couldn’t help but laugh because here I am in the same type of dress. Thanks mom!

Maxi dresses have evolved into a spring and summer must have for me. Honestly long maxi dresses growing up were not the hottest trend for a teenager let alone for any young girl trying to figure out her fashion sense. Maxi dresses can go grandma real quick.. or even too sexy depending on your body type. Here are a few helpful tips for picking a maxi dress.
- Maxi: Equals long in length, but does not mean big in width. Be mindful if you are short like me some maxi dresses will tend to hang on me and make me look even skinnier. Try the high low or the asymmetrical maxi dresses this will give he look as if you are taller instead of shorter. If you are bigger than me do not buy a larger size or try to cover up your shape. this will only make you look larger or like you are wearing grandmas moo-moo! Flaunt what you have gracefully.
- Prints: if someone who is a size 0 with a printed maxi dress on the odds of it looking the same on someone who is considered plus size, it will not look the same. Prints play an illusion that you are bigger or smaller. If you are considered plus size try smaller prints and if considered petite try a larger print. let me know how that works?
- Shape: Weather you are big or small we all have to create that illusion that we have this banging shape. Even if you have a small waist you tend to accentuate this area. Try purchasing dresses with a waist tie to pull in your waist. this will create that hour glass affect.
Maxi Dresses are a must have and should be a staple for spring and summer. They are easy, light and many wearing often wear them to weddings and date nights. you can always dress them up or down depending on the material and style! Don’t forget maxi dresses can be worn with heels, tennis shoes or sandals.. take your pick.
For this look it’s a simple wrap maxi dress. The wrap helps to pull in my waist and make my bust look bigger. I went with a soft bold print. Because this dress is long i choose to pair it with heels. This give the illusion that i am taller, like I am going to rip the runway. How would you style this dress?
This dress is no long available, but I have you covered click here for several options!

Have you ever felt lost in a crowd..not noticeable almost like you are invisible? I have found that many people feel this way, I know I have. Finding your voice is one of many factors to self love.
My twin aka my mom often would say never loose your voice. Coming from a broken family household I often saw my mother’s voice being limited. I didn’t understand her words then, but I often found myself trying to fit in with the latest fashion…that never looked good on me. It wasn’t until I was in undergrad at Norfolk State University when I realized, I can’t run to the store and just buy anything.. There’s an actual science, remedy a method to this. Once I developed my own style, this is when my voice developed.
Since then my style has changed and has become more fashionable but it relates to who I am creatively. To me fashion is art! Your voice is not just the words that you speak but by the way you creatively express yourself. Once I found my voice, I feel alive, bold and I love myself just that much more.

Growing up in the inner city of San Diego California, I was not exposed to all of the many arts, high society clubs, luxury cars and many other things. I wouldn’t say I was raised in the ghetto. However my parents did the best they could. Well we did have the biggest house on the block and many people thought we were rich. Rich in money? No! But rich in style yes.. Both of my parents new how to dress and instilled that in my brothers and sisters. My mother would always tell me “Always dress to impress, you never know who you will met.” I intend to always dress my best.
Flashing into present day my husband was raised the same way however was exposed to luxury in many different ways. However we have the same mindset although we come form different locations and background! It amazing how you can meet someone who is just like you! My husband is an Aerospace Engineer, who loves all things, trains, plane and automobiles. He is a natural for tech gadgets and things that go fast. Totally opposite of me.
We were recently invited to the Bentley Reveal party of the all new Bentley Continental GT (Grand Touring). Let me give this car a moment of silence… Okay so when you think of Bentley you think of high class, fancy, red carpet right? Well I at least do and so does my husband. We didn’t know who we would meet let alone network with.. I of course dressed us both and figured, lace, and suede always look rich.
My outfit is from Dillards. this is one of the dresses i purchased during the New Year’s sale. I snag this beauty for more than a bargain! Te detailing on this dress is exquisite as it actually fades to different shade of burgundy. There’s a nice lining underneath that stops right at the knee leaving the rest of the lace see-thru. I paired this lace Antonio Melani dress with my burgundy suede JustFab heels. My husband was fitted in a matching burgundy blazer and black lapel.. fitted black slack pants and “custom” made shoes.. okay they are not custom made but the way they match this blazer one would think so.
For any car lovers out there check out the full Bentley Continental GT technical review form my husband Ben Wayne . Enjoy!
How has your past shaped your present? Are you more than grateful for thing your parents taught you even if you had access to luxury things in life? I am more than appreciative for what I did, didn’t and now have.

Kick off your shoes and relax your feet.. party on down this…. Xscape beat.. “Just Kick It” That is one of my favorite Xscape songs from the 90’s! The weekend is all about being cute and comfortable. Plaid and vests are always a perfect pair. Hailing from my once favorite but no longer store The Limited, I paired this look together with my simple black leggings and open lace booties. Topping this “fit” off with my leather hat and a polka dot Betsey Johnson book bag. It’s its just that simple! It has enough color and print to make this weekend look perfect for just kicking it.

To keep it totally real with you, My fiancé contacted me at 2:30 pm while I was at work and said we have a “date night” engagement to be at by 6:00 pm. What would any female do? PANIC! I immediately knew I was going to wear this dazzling velvet off the shoulder dress From New York & Company. The red against the velvet print makes this dress pop!
Now for my footwork of course I pulled out my faux suede lace up “Kateryna” heels from JustFab. These shows gave just enough sexy and comfort. I opted to bring my satchel red Kenneth Cole purse, which gives me enough space to carry my extra “knick knacks”. Ladies if you are ever in a hurry make sure you have a few staple dresses and shoes like this in your wardrobe! xo Happy Fashion Divas.
