Staying Safe and Fashionable

image00058

Hi Fashionistas, as we know there is a shortage of household cleaning products, hand sanitizer and toilet paper. Toilet paper being the most odd on the list during this time.I have yet to figure out how toilet paper will keep you safe during this pandemic. However among many cleaning supplies you can actually make. Sometimes I like to put on my Molly DIY outfit and make it myself.. Here’s a disclaimer, DO NOT MIX CHEMICALS! for example alcohol and Clorox, or ammonia and Clorox.. that equates to a serious gaseous bomb in your kitchen. Since hand sanitizer is on the rise I thought I could give you a quick easy recipe to make your own. Also if you have kids please do not allow them to use this in large consumption as it can irritate their skin!

image00055

Hand sanitizer recipe
What you’ll need:

3/4 cup of isopropyl or rubbing alcohol (99 percent)
1/4 cup of aloe vera gel (to help keep your hands smooth and to counteract the harshness of alcohol)
10 drops of essential oil, such as lavender oil, or you can use lemon juice instead
Directions:

Pour all ingredients into a bowl, ideally one with a pouring spout like a glass measuring container.
Mix with a spoon and then beat with a whisk to turn the sanitizer into a gel.
Pour the ingredients into an empty bottle for easy use, and label it “hand sanitizer.”

Want more information on hand sanitizers check out the information from the CDC

I would only use this for extreme cases. Stick to washing you hands with soap and water as much as possible.

Okay so let’s get into this outfit. Every year I feature jumpsuits on my blog. You must know by now, that they are one of my favorite staples in my closet. Jumpsuit make a quick and stylish outfit even on your worse days. Believe it or not I needed a black jumpsuit. I have one in my closet but it’s old and needs to be retired. Thanks to my fashionistas over at Fabrik they gifted me this black utility tie waist jumpsuit. When I purchase clothes I try to find versatile pieces that I can interchange for work and play. This jumpsuit meets all the requirements. It’s super light weight, it buttons down the from and gives that professional look. I paired it with a cute fruit purse. Speaking of which you know I love fruit. For my footwork, these Katy Perry rubiks cube inspired low suede heels did the trick.

10 Things To Do while At Home

Hey beautiful lady bugs. Fun fact did you know lady bugs and giraffes are some of my favorite insects and mammals. Random I k ow however this is lady bug season aka spring. Unfortunately right now we truly can’t enjoy Gods creation. No worries I am truly finding ways to reflect on Gods promises.

Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him

I am currently working from home and working harder than ever before. This is not my first time working from home however the anxiety that COVID-19 has caused has made this expert so much different. Below are a few things to do during this time.

  1. Pray: praying has been so therapeutic for me. As I will never truly know why God does certain things. But this is not for me to question but to be still and listen.
  2. Take a walk: many parks have closed down here in Georgia but taking a walk in your neighborhood will suffice. Make sure to get some fresh air.
  3. Spring clean: yaull are about to see some winter stuff on my Poshmark! There’s so much I didn’t wear that has got to go. Make sure to follow me as I do another closet clear out!
  4. Read a book: when was the last time you picked up a good book and read the entire book? It’s been about 10 years for me which is sad. I used to be a book some. Now is the time to get back on it. I am taking recommendations.
  5. Write out your goals: as things has shifted. Write out some of your goals you would like to accomplish when this is all over.
  6. Educate yourself: learn something new. There’s tons of feee classes online, YouTube and other sites.
  7. Home projects: finish up those home remodeling or those small projects you been meaning to get too.
  8. Rest: lord knows we all need some rest.
  9. Take up a new hobby/ workout: I used to paint, I think I may start doing that again. Just because the gym is closed that doesn’t mean you can’t workout at home.
  10. Remain Calm!: this too shall pass

I hope these tips have been helpful. Now let’s get into this outfit. Oh yes and just because we are stuck inside that doesn’t mean you can’t be cute. Im sorry but I’ve always had a hard time being in the House in sweats or my pjs. Now don’t get me wrong when I am chilling I like to say I have fashionable lounge wear. I can’t apologize, it’s just the diva in me.

I am totally loving color and textures right now. My crochet sweater offers a ton of texture with is peplum and flower knot details. This was on clearance at Zara last season. However you can find this sweater on Poshmark or I will leave some similar selections below. My jeans- yaull have been going crazy about these beauties and yes I snagged them for $20 at Fabrik. They are still on sale but with limited sizes left. No worries distressed jeans are totally in right now. These cute cheetah print separate another fab find from Fabrik snagged these on super sale for $24. Espadrilles. I threw on a cute straw bag and my Betsey Johnson cat eye shades and I’m out… or should I say I’m in?

Stay safe and as always xoxo happy fashion!

Don’t Judge Me

Don’t judge me! Hey divas happy Monday and you know I am diving into the nitty gritty about judging. We are half way through this month and to be honest it’s been a rough year for me. Trying to stay consistent with my blog, work and home life. Along the way I have judged myself and have often wondered how people view me.

You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. Romans 2:1

Is it ok to judge others? Let alone yourself? Of course we know the answer to this. It’s a big fat NO! We aren’t called to judge others or put unhealthy pressure on ourselves. I have been judged many of times weather I was judged by my hair, the clothes I wear, the way I talk. The list goes on and I’m sure it does for you as well. The ultimate issue is if you’re confident in who you are you will to allow what anyone think or feel of you bother you. This is easier said than done.

I often still struggle with my own thoughts and what people have said about me. However I am learning to use those negative attributes and turn them into positive attributes in my life. Weather true or not I try to use anything as motivation to do and be better. How are you trying to live your life judgement free?

Let’s get into this outfit. You know I love a good jumpsuit. But this one is extra special as it can be dressed up or down. It is a satin. Material with wide leg with pleating, v neck with buttons and a simple flutter sleeve. The length of this is long, however I normally would wear heels with an outfit like this. I am still recovering from my surgery so I opted for a pair of leopard sparkly slides. To top of this fun flirty look I grabbed my leopard print bag and shades. Oops did I fail to mention this look is from Fabrik and slides are from TJMaxx Steve Madden brand.

Have a good day xo Happy Fashion Divas.

Why Sweaters are Perfect For “Sweater Weather”

Yes divas it’s officially sweater weather. that’s right, pull out your chunky, knit, turtle neck, hi lo, and all color sweaters out of your closet! I sure am.. If you didn’t know I love sweaters…all types! I don’t discriminate. (lol) anyways, today’s blog is about sweaters.. well obviously! I love mixing a long cardigan with a good sweater.

Why A Cardigan?

Cardigans are my go to in the fall and winter! why? because they add an extra layer of warmth, style and can easily jazz up or dress down an outfit. I stay cold so have a funky layer piece always says i thought about this outfit instead of “I’m cold.” I usually flock towards long cardigans so that it makes wearing leggings, skinny cans, crop tops, or any sweater that hits right at your waist look more professional.. especially if you are int eh work place. Let’s get this right, I don’t wear crop tops to work that’s so not appropriate.

  1. V-neck
  2. Crewneck
  3. Chunky
  4. long line

Why A Sweater?

Because it keeps your warm! Thats so obvious however Sweaters can also be dressed up or down! styled with jeans, slacks, shorts, skirts you name it! I feel like I should have said greens, beans, potatoes.. you name it!! There are so many different styles that at least having the basics are necessary.

  1. V-neck sweaters are great for a business casual look, where you can easily pair a button up collard blouse underneath.
  2. Crew neck, which is also the round neck.
  3. Cowl neck sweater is for someone who like the “thought” of a turtleneck but possibly doesn’t like the “i’m being choked” feeling.
  4. Turtleneck
  5. Mock neck
  6. Oversized, one of my favs to wear with leggings or skinny jeans.
  7. Cropped
  8. Hi Lo

All of these types of sweaters come in, slim knit, chunky, oversized, cropped, hi lo you name it there’s a sweater that will fit your style.

Now for my look! I went for an all white underneath this crazy english scene print cardigan. True story, my boss thought I was excited about thanksgiving, she thought it was turkey and cranberries on my cardigan. However it’s actually a women in a store selling fruit to a man at a counter. anyway this cardigan coat is super warm, long and has every pop of color your heart desires! I pair it with my chunky cable knit white turtleneck, a pair of skinny Michael Kors jeans and my high hell lace up booties! It’s so simple.

How do you wear your sweaters and cardigans?

xo happy fashion divas!

Finding Success In All Things.

Today’s motivational Monday topic is about success I promised I would talk about this subject. Success! How do you measure success? There are so many ways to feel, think, believe that you are successful. Below are a few important key factors in being successful

The truth is success is not determined about the materialistic things you have or what you have gained. It more about being content and at peace at where you are in your current situations. You see we all want the glamorous life, the big house, fancy car, money flowing out the bank, pretty much unlimited resources.

Let’s try to flip that, instead of wanting but instead being grateful for you do have and know that success is. It determined by riches or even how fast you obtain those things. We all are running our own race all at different speeds and times. What God has for you is for you. If it doesn’t come right away that doesn’t means its not coming. Be patient and keep on pushing forward. We are all successful in our own ways.

Now for these sweet outfit details. This lace bell sleeve blouse is from versona off the clearance rack. I paired it with this floral skirt from the loft. I decided to keep my foot or, basic with these knee high taupe boots from JcPenny. This is a perfect day to night or work wear look. Simply but classy.

Make this week count divas. Xo happy fashion.

5 objectives to beat time! Goal Series part 2

Hey divas… it’s that time again motivational Monday. Part 2to the goal series. Be honest do you like these types of blogs? I hon still like writing these blogs to help inspire myself just as much to inspire you. I have come along way I promise I will spill out my entire life story one of these days…. and I don’t care if you judge any of it because it has made me who I am today. As I am still growing and learning through this thing we call life, I continue to make life goals for my self weather they are short or long term.

Now ladies we are driven by time. Let’s be honest by the age of 16 you should’ve obtained your drivers license and had your first kiss. By the age of 21 you should’ve graduated college and fell madly in love with the star basketball player or an engineer nerd (hence I married an aerospace engineer) and landed your dream job. By 25 you either married your prince or bought a house and a year later you had a baby. By the age of 30 you now had your PHD if you are a book worm or you are a big CEO of a fashion company and are on the board of directors for a girls mentoring program and let’s not forget you love being active in church…. okay okay you get what I’m the truth is nothing goes our way and time definitely doesn’t wait for your specific plans or go according to them either.

I’ve had to learn to roll with whatever God and that day, year gave me. None of the above things happened for me in that way. Matter fact they all happened when I stopped thinking and focusing on what society said I should have now.

This weeks objectives:

  1. Stop looking and listening to what everyone else has
  2. Set a specific goal it must be clear and well defined and measurable .
  3. Don’t base your goals on time. Time is delicate and should not be waisted as we know it goes fast. So instead make attainable goals and jump! Starting today, even if starting means researching and writing down a step process, or figuring out what it is you’re going to do. A plan of action.
  4. Relevant: make
  5. Start telling yourself daily that you can,you will, be successful ( please note that we will be discussing that word successful in another blog as it’s often misunderstood.

Now what’s even more crazy is that I sat here writ g this blog for syou all and something told me to just google how to attainable, relevant and time. Girl get out of here. The way I have ordered mine are not in that order but clearly we can I’m onto something. Look at God won’t he do it!

Okay divas I leave you with this let’s kick time in the butt and put our pen to that paper our fingers to the keyboard and get started today! No more ifs ands or buts. I claim it that you are more than who you think you are.

Xo happy fashion divas.

Trendy Fall Pieces and Prints

Hey divas, it’s been a while. But guess what it’s fall! I can’t get too excited because it’s still hot here in Georgia. That doesn’t mean you can’t get you cool vibes on in the heat.

There’s are many trending prints for this fall and winter. To name a few: animal print particularly leopard print, plaid, embroidered florals. Some hot pieces include, long maxi shirt dresses that can be used as a dress or a disputed over jeans. Also, printed leggings, long coats, and just about anything with sequins. Let’s not for get the booties. Booties have been reinvented from heel height, colors and prints. With this being said let’s dive into these outfit details.

Who doesn’t love denim on denim with a pop of leopard print. Well that’s exactly what I did with this look. When I saw this denim button down, bow tie midi dress I had to have it. Ladies it’s not a heavy denim mire like a chambray but great for fall or winter. You. An easily dress this up or down. Open the front and wear a cute top and jeans of your choice underneath you literally will have 2 looks in one. Dress can be found exclusively at New York and Company from the Eva Mendes collection.

Can we take a minute for these patchwork booties. Yaaasssss believe it or not these are very comfortable. I love the peep toe and these different color of denim on this bootie. Head on over to shoedazzle right now before this shoe is gone.

I decided to pop this denim with leopard print, earrings ,purse and belt. Like I said you can take a simple outfit and jazz it up with a print. What styles are you most excited about this fall and winter.
