I’m kicking this collar off with this lovely renewing green suit. The pants are high waisted and hit right at your ankles. The material is light and perfect for this summer heat. But wait… You all know I have a tendency to get cold when in doors.. and there just so happened to be a matching zip up blazer. It’s cincehes at the middle to give your boss that Coke bottle figure.

img_1919Keeping with the bold color theme who doesn’t like bold stripes with rainbow colors! I love this blouse as its severely high lo as well so you can wear it tucked in or out. I topped this look off with my favorite hot pink heels from Justfab! I love this outfit as it’s bold and makes a professional statement! Are you bold enough to wear a statement piece like this?

Boho Chic

Happy Monday Divas! it’s time for some Fish in Fashion motivation for this Monday! I am so tickled right now as I told one of my best friends that I was doing a Boho inspired look for the blog.. the response was what’s boho? Of course I was talking to a man so I had to not be so judgmental. Well If you didn’t know what boho is.. keep on reading!

img_1721

Today’s motivation strictly is coming form when I was little girl and I had..well my mom had sold all this candy and gift wrap for a school fundraiser. Do yaull remember those fundraisers? and the more you sell you can get those cool neon light up glasses.. some random bike, a walkman or a off brand gameboy.. Okay okay so the prizes were cool and my mom made it a point to try to get me the coolest thing on the list.. a “Camera” well after weeks of selling gift wrap and candy my sells totaled up for me to win the camera.

img_1717

It was finally the day when we would receive everything that was purchased so we could distribute the items to the buyer and for me to receive all fo my prizes. My grandmother Momma Doris picked me up from.. cough cough elementary school and i was so excited to get to her house and start playing with my new camera.. So bottom line the camera was not in my bag.. My momma Doris called the school.. called the company who as supposed to distribute the camera.. and she called the school again.. everyone kept saying I didn’t sell enough.. My Momma Doris was no push over and if yawl know anything about a black grandmother they will get to the bottom of any issue! Thats exactly what she did. Meanwhile I was to busy crying my eyes out and I’ll never forget so looked at me.. well she snatched me up looked at em dead in my eyes and said stop that crying.. Don’t you ever cry over anything or anyone of this magnitude in life”

img_1722

Long story short I ended up getting my camera and to this day.. If I have ever cried it was behind closed doors. I’ve been through a lot and it’s only been by the grace of God and those words my grandmother spoke to me as a kid that I have been able to overcome many obstacles. Small or little obstacles come in many different ways. Take this with you today, don’t cry over the smaller stuff there’s always a bigger reward in the end.

Have you ever heard of the 70’s? Coachella..Hippie..free spirited or what I like to say earthy.. Erykah Badu look. Boho is a sale that is looks fitting.. earth tones- with pops of color, peasant like wear, florals to modest prints, lots of embroidery pretty much throwback!

img_1763

Okay let’s get into this outfit! This Boho 100% cotton dress is from Fab’rik. Yes lately I’ve been loving their stuff. Super cute and chic. This dress is perfect for the hot summer days. Why? because it’s light weight with a small lining underneath, long enough to not get a sun-burn.. and yesssss black people do get sun-burns lol.. Anyways, I paired this lovely long maxi dress with some simple gladiator sandals and this basket earth tone sun hat. My belt bag comes from JustFab and I thought the yellow would be the perfect match for this outfit.. hello whoever brought back the fannie pack definitely knew to bring it back with style!

Happy Monday’s love remember don’t let the small things get you down! Stay in the fight and always push forward!

International Womens Day

Hey Divas it’s that time of year again when we celebrate all women. Matter fact everyday should be a celebration! I have teamed up with my girls to bring you some empowerment, support and motivation on this International Women’s Day!

img_0702

I think it’s very important for women to understand who they are, to love themselves, and to know their self worth. Since support in all things are key Dani, Kisha and I thought it would be even more impactful to highlight some women owned business in this collaboration!

img_0728

First off I can’t express how excited I was to do this collab with my girls and hitting on such an important topic. I have stated this before, we are all uniquely creative, strong, powerful, educated, beautiful the list goes on. But I couldn’t be more prouder to stand next to these women on this day! The continue motivation, girl talks, and girl get up off your butt and write that blog support is totally amazing! We each individually have our own challenges and struggles but we definitely balance each other out. Cough cough this is why you definitely need a girl tribe!

so on that note lets define some words that make us women unique! Please note that I took these definitions straight off of Google I’ll explain why as you keep reading!

img_0703

Wom·an

  • an adult human female.
  • a female person associated with a particular place, activity, or occupation.
  • female adults in general
  • a female paid to clean someone’s house and carry out general domestic duties.

This is a snippet of what was listed on Google. However these definitions do not define a women! a women yes is an adult female! however I am not defined as a house cleaner. Do I clean my house? wash my clothes and cook my own food? YES! But these are daily tasks that both men and women do. Furthermore a janitor can be associated with a man. I totally understand that “a women’s” role is normally looked at in the house but that doe snot define us!

Beau·ti·ful : Pleasing the senses or mind aesthetically. Of a very high standard; excellent.

Grace·ful: having or showing grace or elegance.

In·tel·li·gent: having or showing intelligence, especially of a high level.

Bold: (of a person, action, or idea) showing an ability to take risks; confident and courageous.

img_0729

These are a few words that we are often over looked or the definition is not appropriately applied to women. Listen up ladies do not be defined as something that you are not! You are more than what someone says you are but what God has called you to be! Short, tall, skinny, fat, short hair, long hair, or no hair, gap teeth, no teeth, glasses, no glasses, freckles, moles. Embrace your beauty form within, that’s when people will truly understand and see you for you!

img_0730

Switching gears to highlight some of this good fashion that we are bringing you today. I am highlighting my girl Mrs. Juanita of Bold Looks and Head Wraps  (BLHW) and Shan of Sewsophitikated. I had to the opportunity of meeting both of these wonderful women at last years World Natural hair show! BLHD head wraps are hand made and you have the option to pick which type of material you would like. Juanita is also able to customize pieces to your liking. Although her specialty is head wraps she also offers, purses, t-shirts and jewelry. Make sure you stop by BLHW and get crowned! I promise you won’t be disappointed.

img_0700

Sewsophitikated is a one stop shop as well. I actually found Shan through the hair show and Dani! You can get crowned, bedazzled with handmade jewelry, skirts that are tailored made for you and purses! I opted to pick up one of her handmade purses! Let me tell you the quality is amazing! Make sure to stop by and check out her products.
