Fashion For Monday
Happy Monday Divas! I’m feeling refreshed and revitalized today. I have some goals to work on this week and I plan to accomplish them. I can honestly say that this year has brought me many “mini breakdowns” so I am thriving to do better with controlling my ups and downs and looking at the downs as ups and the ups as UPs!
It’s Monday and we often get what we call the Monday Blues.. I don’t know why but everyone praises Friday for the weekend.. However Friday is the end to Monday and Monday allows us to start of fresh. We should praise each day like it’s our last! Today’s motivational quote comes from Charles R. Swindoll. He states that “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.”
I totally agree! Far too often I have flown off the handle and literally spiraled out of control i my mind with anger, sadness, beating myself up or whatever the situation may be.. my reactions were totally uncalled for. I have even taken it out on the people I love. or just snapped lol.. I am laughing now but it’s not funny in the mist of it because not everything “bad” that happens is truly bad. It can be a warning sign and a blessing from God!
Since I have been trying to look at all things positively, it has changed my mindset to feel “stress free.” Instead of living on the edge and living more in line with that God has for you even if that means something doesn’t go your way it’s okay because there’s always a better plan right down the road!
I thought I would do a Monday shot mixed with business and casual. Why because that’s how our minds are! Well at least mine is. We still want to have the comfort of the weekend but with our game face on!
My houndstooth red and black blazer is from my sis Kisha this was a vintage thrifted item I found on her site at Kisharosetreasures.com. Chic out her website as she has awesome apparel and jewelry! By the way this is not an ad just one boss queen supporting another! Of course I had to find a Monday t-shirt.. why not it’s Monday! This t-shirt can be found at Fab’rik along with so many other other cute designs. I decided to put this look with a pair of tuxedo chinos form the express.. These pants were giving to me from a friend! However I have linked some styles down below. My cheetah print sneakers tie this entire look together and yes they are form Fab’rik as well! Don’t see your size there’s tons of inventory in a Fab’rik store near you.

Don’t Judge Me
Don’t judge me! Hey divas happy Monday and you know I am diving into the nitty gritty about judging. We are half way through this month and to be honest it’s been a rough year for me. Trying to stay consistent with my blog, work and home life. Along the way I have judged myself and have often wondered how people view me.
You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. Romans 2:1
Is it ok to judge others? Let alone yourself? Of course we know the answer to this. It’s a big fat NO! We aren’t called to judge others or put unhealthy pressure on ourselves. I have been judged many of times weather I was judged by my hair, the clothes I wear, the way I talk. The list goes on and I’m sure it does for you as well. The ultimate issue is if you’re confident in who you are you will to allow what anyone think or feel of you bother you. This is easier said than done.
I often still struggle with my own thoughts and what people have said about me. However I am learning to use those negative attributes and turn them into positive attributes in my life. Weather true or not I try to use anything as motivation to do and be better. How are you trying to live your life judgement free?
Let’s get into this outfit. You know I love a good jumpsuit. But this one is extra special as it can be dressed up or down. It is a satin. Material with wide leg with pleating, v neck with buttons and a simple flutter sleeve. The length of this is long, however I normally would wear heels with an outfit like this. I am still recovering from my surgery so I opted for a pair of leopard sparkly slides. To top of this fun flirty look I grabbed my leopard print bag and shades. Oops did I fail to mention this look is from Fabrik and slides are from TJMaxx Steve Madden brand.
Have a good day xo Happy Fashion Divas.

Moving Forward in Style
Hey divas! Can you believe that July is almost over? Thats right and one of my favorite months is coming up.. Cough Ouch August.. Why? Because it’s the month I was married. This year will make 2 years.. whoot whoot! Not only will I be celebrating my anniversary but my sister will be getting married this coming Sunday. We making magic in August. So with that being said you know i will be blogging the fun road trip form Atlanta to Virginia.. and all of the wedding madness.. you know all the good stuff.
Since it’s Monday it’s time for a little bit of Faith & Fashion.
“Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.” John 15: 20 KJV
Do you remember the day when you could stay up late, party hard and wake up early? Don’t get me wrong I’m not that old yet, however I definitely have no desire to do any of that anymore lol. SO my routine looked a little bit like this… IN COLLEGE!
- Wake up early
- eat breakfast
- go to class/or work depending on the day
- have study sessions in between classes/ or tutoring sessions on weekends
- attend praise dance practice on Wednesdays..
- THURSDAY-SUNDAY….. is now a blur ahhaha
- okay seriously thought I still had class but sometimes the party would start on Thursday’s and wouldn’t end till Sunday.. not that same party of course but there was always a party.. either a campus party. your bff’s dorm room party.. a Frat/Sorority party… you know the party that homeboy that his ex girlfriends grandmas house which is right around the corner house party.. The all white party.. the shorty short party.. okay okay you get the picture.. So what can I say I had fun. Well to be honest my sister and I and Bff were always the designated driver because we had a car so we were known as the sober girls.. lol
- Stayed up till 2 studying went to IHOP with the L7’s (a nickname for my crew back in the day)
- Monday=Do it all over again
So this horrible college routine only lasted 1 year and half.. I am proud of that cause that life is rough.. Not healthy and definitely not what my momma was supporting me for. However It didn’t take me too long to realize that there’s more to life, college, and me than this type of lifestyle. Thats when I decided to take hold of my actions and buckle down and let the noise go! Meaning the parties, the people that were toxic, and anything that was spiritually unhealthy!
When I made this ultimate shift in my life I that’s when I could see me against the world. I was no longer friends with friends I thought were my girls.. unnecessary drama broke out because I chose not to party or entertain anything less of my new morals and values. I decided to to take a stand for me and for what God had for me.. Honestly at that time I had no idea what God has for me but i knew it wasn’t this or these people.. So today I can honestly say that when you are not of the world .. the world will be against you and you will always have God standing with you. Yes I can look back and laugh on my wayward college days and nights but I look at it a testament to myself that I couldn’t have come this far without my faith and God! Often to many times we get tangled in the trends, society and what we think we should be doing.. This is clearly called being a follower. We are called to lead and be the light not to live in darkness.
My linen jumpsuit can be found at Fab’rik along with these oh so comfortable black slides. I love a cute kimono it’s perfect for summer days or to throw something over you arms if there’s a cool breeze! Kimonos can be found just about anywhere including Walmart.. yep don’t sleep on Walmart. Head on over to Fab’rik now as these items are still on sale. Are you moving forward in style this year? Today take a stand for you!

Boho Chic
Happy Monday Divas! it’s time for some Fish in Fashion motivation for this Monday! I am so tickled right now as I told one of my best friends that I was doing a Boho inspired look for the blog.. the response was what’s boho? Of course I was talking to a man so I had to not be so judgmental. Well If you didn’t know what boho is.. keep on reading!
Today’s motivation strictly is coming form when I was little girl and I had..well my mom had sold all this candy and gift wrap for a school fundraiser. Do yaull remember those fundraisers? and the more you sell you can get those cool neon light up glasses.. some random bike, a walkman or a off brand gameboy.. Okay okay so the prizes were cool and my mom made it a point to try to get me the coolest thing on the list.. a “Camera” well after weeks of selling gift wrap and candy my sells totaled up for me to win the camera.
It was finally the day when we would receive everything that was purchased so we could distribute the items to the buyer and for me to receive all fo my prizes. My grandmother Momma Doris picked me up from.. cough cough elementary school and i was so excited to get to her house and start playing with my new camera.. So bottom line the camera was not in my bag.. My momma Doris called the school.. called the company who as supposed to distribute the camera.. and she called the school again.. everyone kept saying I didn’t sell enough.. My Momma Doris was no push over and if yawl know anything about a black grandmother they will get to the bottom of any issue! Thats exactly what she did. Meanwhile I was to busy crying my eyes out and I’ll never forget so looked at me.. well she snatched me up looked at em dead in my eyes and said stop that crying.. Don’t you ever cry over anything or anyone of this magnitude in life”
Long story short I ended up getting my camera and to this day.. If I have ever cried it was behind closed doors. I’ve been through a lot and it’s only been by the grace of God and those words my grandmother spoke to me as a kid that I have been able to overcome many obstacles. Small or little obstacles come in many different ways. Take this with you today, don’t cry over the smaller stuff there’s always a bigger reward in the end.
Have you ever heard of the 70’s? Coachella..Hippie..free spirited or what I like to say earthy.. Erykah Badu look. Boho is a sale that is looks fitting.. earth tones- with pops of color, peasant like wear, florals to modest prints, lots of embroidery pretty much throwback!
Okay let’s get into this outfit! This Boho 100% cotton dress is from Fab’rik. Yes lately I’ve been loving their stuff. Super cute and chic. This dress is perfect for the hot summer days. Why? because it’s light weight with a small lining underneath, long enough to not get a sun-burn.. and yesssss black people do get sun-burns lol.. Anyways, I paired this lovely long maxi dress with some simple gladiator sandals and this basket earth tone sun hat. My belt bag comes from JustFab and I thought the yellow would be the perfect match for this outfit.. hello whoever brought back the fannie pack definitely knew to bring it back with style!
Happy Monday’s love remember don’t let the small things get you down! Stay in the fight and always push forward!

June In Bloom
Hi Divas and Happy first Monday of June! It’s been a long while since I have kicked a blog into full swing. However I have the perfect outfit and motivation for you. So let’s dive right tin the goodies.
Let’s talk Fear, Faith and Fashion! So I was reading a devotional the other day and it was so perfect for my current situation. You can’t leave in fear without having a strong rooted faith in God. Your fears can easily overcome your daily tasks, making it hard to function mentally and physically. However this is relation to anything that we do, how? Because we must always have a healthy balance. Our lives must be balanced, whether it’s work life.. healthy food to junk food… working out to not working out..of course to no fashion to fashion.. the list goes on.
Meditate on this.. I can do all things with a balanced lifestyle and not succumbing to fear. Be balanced also means that you are powerful and can overcome anything that you set yourself too. So why not do this in style.
This lovely coral and cream outfit is from New York and Company..of course! and it’s from the Eva Mendes collection. This outfit was actually a gift for my birthday.. I know I know super late but guess what it’s still available. This lovely coral knot top is perfect, sexy and light weight for spring and summer. This stripe matching skirt gives the perfect balance with the button and bow tie back in the front or back. Eva always makes outfits super easy to put together. I paired this outfit with my gladiator zip back block heels from JustFab.
That’s all you are now fearless.. confident and have your power outfit on.. You are now ready to conquer the week!
Stay Confident and as always xo Happy Fashion Divas.

Faith in Fashion
Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”
It’s Monday divas and I’m back with my Motivational Monday’s but I am switching this up to be called Fashion in Faith for 2019! If you’ve been following me on Instagram @emaneescloset you will know that I recently lost my godmother, friend, second mommy all of the above 2 weeks ago. So this Monday I am seeking positivity and rejuvenating my spirit.
I decided that I would use this very well know scripture for today’s motivational Monday quote. Sometimes we need to get back tot he basics instead of complicating life and daily tasks. I am a strong believer of keep things simple… except my clothing lol. Sometimes when things become too hard.. so complicated that when you need to stop and listen to the lord. How do you listen to God? It’s simple.. seriously just stop.. push out all the negative thoughts, your own thoughts.. this if’s ands, and but’s and allow God to live through you.. God speaks to us all differently and you have to learn to listen to him. This is when you allow God to lead in all things you do.
No, it’s not always easy as we tend to just get up and do what feels right.. But who says what we are doing is right? Life gets hard and I have way to many testimonies where God seriously has given me the strength to get over many challenges. Everyday I pray with my husband, and before I go into work I pray again. I never know what that day is going to bring but I tell you one thing that prayer helps! I know you can relate, I’m sure you have gotten a call at work about something, a project stressed you out, a coworker was mean to you.. or even your lunch was nasty (okay maybe not) your child was bad at school, you got a flat tire.. The list goes on.. Divas call on him, he will give the strength to get through all things! Amen
Have a good week divas I hope this uplifted you.
Need some motivation through music.. I love this song Called God Held me By Zacardi Cortez

Reaching Your Goals in Style
Hi Divas I have met a small goal of mine. Which was to obtain 1,000 followers by the end of the year. Well it’s October and I met my goal! Thank you to all of my followers on instagram. If you are not following me you can do so here!I thought today would be a good day since it was Monday to do a Monday motive segment on the blog and of course feature some fashion inspiration!
Speaking of goals, January will make a full year that I have been blogging consistently, and let me tell you I have learned so much. To my loyal followers, you would know that I first started off on YouTube doing fashion and hair videos. But I found that I just wasn’t loyal to making videos and shooting my fashion and writing about it came more naturally to me. Don’t get me wrong I am a natural in front of the camera… I think 🙂 But blogging just seemed more fruitful. I could just be transparent and physically type out my thoughts to all fo you. Like I said before it has been a journey getting to where I am at now, and I have so much further to go! I am actually just getting started.
I have a few questions for you.
- What are some of your goals?
- Have you started trying to meet your goals
- What are your passions
- What drives you?
Try to seriously think about this questions and reflect on them. Are you in a snail mode or a rabbit mode? Are you truly doing all that you can right now. Let em be honest I am not. I can be doing so much more. Don’t get me wrong I am not lazy but I am definitely a go getter and I am my own worse critic. But lately I just want it all and more!
So today I want you to write down your thought and put a plan of action together and start working towards those goals. Remember to stop saying I can’t.. or I don’t have time, we make time for what we want! don’t forget when you are doing great things do it in style!
For todays look I kept it super simple in red. I totally into red right now and just fyi these red boots will be appearing not eh blog several times! My beret and sweater is from SHEIN. I am so into berets as I mentioned previously on my blog and they are a must have this fall and winter! The sweater is a light knit that hits right at the waist but it complement the red and black stripe on jeans from NY & Company. Yaull should know where my booties are from.. of course JustFab. Thats it simple and chic. Have a wonderful eek Divas! make it count.
