No harm in that! So I got my hands on this Garner Fructis curling gel, and I must say It smells so fruity I thought I was going to curl my way to a sandy beach island! Okay okay maybe not quiet an island.
First Impression
This product is not sticky, it’s very light, smells good and it full of nutrients and all that good stuff for your hair! So If you do not know how to do a twist out I’ll refer you to watch one of my earlier YouTube video How to do a Twist Out.
This product actually worked well on my hair! It has a soft -no crunchy hold, however my curls are super defined and still look fresh after 4 days! When it comes to my hair.. any signs of fuzz.. or if the curl starts to get super stretched i’m ready to retest, co-wash and do it all over!!
Anyways do I like this product?: Yes!
Do i recommend you try it?: Yes
Is it cheap?: The cost was reasonable

Here’s some fashion inspiration for you. We are in the dead of winter, however that does not mean your only option to be warm is “sweats” I’m sorry but sweats are only a girls best friend when she’s around the house, taking a road trip or it’s that time of the month!
But since we must still get dressed and look our best at work, why not look cute and comfortable at the same time.
Today’s inspiration can be dressed up or down, take your pick.
The green blazer, with it’s green and white stripes was thrifted for $8. Blazer’s are so fun in any season, They add just enough class and pop to any outfit.
The blue and white strip chiffon blouse was purchased from New York & Company… ages ago however you can find this style of blouse anywhere! blouses like this are great to wear as layering pieces or can be worn alone.
Blue straight leg slacks are a must have in your wardrobe. Purchased form New York & company for $25. The straight leg allows this outfit to look professional but not intimidating!
Now ladies for the foot work take your pick… a simple Jessica Simpson sparkly toe wedge or a classic COACH sneaker.. Either one of these shoes will set this outfit on fire!
I topped this look off with a classic white scarf and of course my lovely matching COAH purse..
So I love a 2 toned hippie color for the summer. Today i will sharing some of my secrets with you. For an extra step by step tutorial watch my hippie tutorial video below. So lets dive into the lippie goodness.
For each of these looks you will repeat each step. You will need to line your lips with your darker color first. Then add the lighter color to the inside of your lip. pucker and smudge your lips together. Clean up the edges of your lips if needed.
So my hair has gone flat and the humidity got to my hair from all of the Hot Atlanta Heat! So I decided to add some curl body and bounce to my hair. Flexi Rods are a great way to add curl and definition to your hair. I will be showing you how to get a super defined curl using flexi rods.
Products & tools
Comb
Hood Dryer (you can also air dry your hair, its totally up to you!)
Lotta Body setting lotion
Spray bottle
Hair clips
Flexi rods
Oil of your choice
Tip: Pout 2 parts water and 2 parts Lotta Body into the spray bottle. This dilutes the Lotta Body since its very thick. it allows you hair to dry faster.
Step 1: make sure your hair is detangled make a part in the front of your hair. this is totally up to you.
Step 2: make a part in the back of your hair. Clip the rest of your hair up and away. divide that part into sections.
Step 3: Spary the Lotta Body onto one of the sections. Now take your flexi rod and begin wrapping the hair around the rod form the bottom. when you wrap your hair around the rod do a 360 degree turn and twist on the rod. (please view my video for more instructions)
Step 4: Repeat all over your hair. Sit under the hooded dryer or air dry. I ended up sitting under the hooded dryer but then I fell asleep.
Step 5: Untwist your hair off the rod. Once all the rods are out of your hair, add oil to your fingers and run all over your hair. The oil helps reduce frizz.
Step 6: Divide curls into smaller strands. make sure to separate each curl gently and curl it around your finger.
Step 7: Pick out your roots with a wide tooth comb. Shake and fluff!
Bam Super Defined Curls using flexi rods. Note that this was done on straightened hair.
Are you looking for a quick easy protective hairstyle? Well try out the easy crown twist! This look can be very versatile, it can be dressed up for a more professional look or dressed down for around the city look. Make your pick! So lets dive into the hair goodness.
Tools/products you will need
Comb
Brush
Paddle Brush
Bob pins
2 Hair ties
Edge control
Finishing polish spray
Leave in Conditioner
Step 1: Start off by detangling your hair
Step 2: Part your hair in the front as if you were giving yourself a side bang. Then make a part down the center of your hair. You should now have 2 equal parts.
Step 3: Tie one side part and apply leave in conditioner to your hair. I like to concentrate on my ends and edges of my hair. Now use the paddle rush to help distribute the leave in conditioner evenly throughout your hair.
Step 4: Apply edge control to front edges and back of your hair. Only do this if you want a more polished look.
Step 5: Grab a section from the top, split section into 2 pieces. Twist one piece of hair over the other. Now begin twisting. As you twist you will add hair to the bottom. (please refer to video for demonstration.
Step 6: Continue to twist all the down and secure with a hair tie.
Step 7: Repeat steps on the other side
Step 8: Criss-cross the 2 twist in the back and secure with bob pins. If your hair is long like mine you will have to tuck hair to hide the ends. (refer to video for this)
Step 9: apply finishing polish spray for extra gloss and sheen!
SO a friend of mine told me that Charlotte Russe was having a Look Book Competition against bloggers. So all that was needed is to create a fall preview look book and you can become Charlotte Russe’s next It Girl! I decided just to have fun with this one whether I win or lose there’s no harm in having fun. So let dive into this fall preview look book.
Look 1: The Weekender
So This is fun easy weekend look. A simple pair of jeans and sweater can go a long way! I paired these American Eagle jeans with a mustard knit Forever 21 sweater and topped it off with a cheetah print lined with teal edging sealed the look. I wanted to make this look fun so i selected my favorite classic brown coach shoes that have blue and green stripes to add some extra color to this look. And we of course can’t forget the rare blue and green Coach bag. And there you have it a simple weekend look.
Look 2: Stripes & Suede
Ladies a Sweater dress is great for the fall it can be dressed up or down. This white and Black Stripe sweater dress hails from JcPenny. It its 100% cotton and will fit your body like a glove. I usually don’t do too much matching with my clothes however I decided to pare this dress with a Vince Camuto Blazer that has suede patches on the shoulders. The older zippers are a sexy dazzle feel to this look. Because you can never predict the fall whether I decided to wear my camel tall boots from JcPenny.
Look 3: Tough Gal
Ladies Plaids and rough combat boots will always be and easy look. If you feeling rough and tough and want to play hardball with the boys this is the look for you! This blue plaid shirt was easily found at JcPenny and paired with an ash wash black skinny jeans from Forever 21. The edgy combat boots were a super steal from Burlington Coat Factory. These boots come in a variety of color such as brown, grey and camel. I love simple little beanies to keep my head warm in the fall and winter. I’ve had this one for so long I can’t quiet remember were it was purchased from. However you can find these at Target, F21, Walmart, Cotton On and other department stores. So rock rough and stuff with yo bad self!
Look 4: Cranberry Delight
This knit skater skirt I picked up from Dillard’s for only $25.00 it was originally $80.00 what a super steal. I love how it flares at the hips and has later editing around the arms. It is sleeves so I like wear a blazer, cardigan or even a turtle neck sweater underneath. The black leather and suede blazer was purchased from JUST FAB, check out their inventory it may still be on sale! This look can be dressed up or down. It’s a simple day to-night look. The leather boots were also another $15.00 steal from Macy’s that I couldn’t resist. I like to pair solids with prints to jazz up things. Aztec long cardigans are in for this fall. I purchased this one from Ross for $10.00.

How it worked on my hair?
Ladies if you didn’t know I have natural hair that natural waves, and curls. I did add any oil or other products to my hair besides a heat protectant when I blow dried my hair. So as you can see I my hair is blow dried out.
I tried the one pass test with using a chunky piece of hair. Now for black women usually the smaller and thinner the hair is you will obtain better smoother and straighter results. This is my thick piece of hair.
This was my results from only going through my hair one time. I was highly shocked to see such great results. When I saw martini do this on TV I was shocked and was like okay I must try this!
However I still went ahead and did a second pass and curled my hair while straightening it. I have never achieved such great results without using the chase method or any type of oils. This flat-iron left my hair shiny full of body and bounce.
My Favorite feature
This flat-iron is gold titanium plated and the plates tilt in the direction you are flat ironing your hair. this is a great feature when you are curling your hair. It makes the hair glide easily when turning your hair to curl it!
Ladies I wouldn’t lie to, this flat iron is must try! So no more frying and bring your hair, trust me your hair will thank you.
Are you work ready? Well here’s some work wear inspiration from H&M. H&M has been having some fabulous sales lately and I couldn’t help but purchase some of their professional classic blazers for work. Blazers are a key essential part of your wardrobe. Blazers can be dressed up or down for a walk in the city to a professional business meeting. Versatile pieces are great to have in your closet. Let’s plunge into the goodness..
Blue & White Piping Blazer
This navy blue blazer is tried with white piping making it a perfect tailored fit. This blazer will pull you in and accentuate all your cures in the right places. The blazer is so well made its lined and also has zippers on the sleeves and both front pockets. I absolutely adore the white piping the back panel of the blazer giving the tailored fitted look. This is a must have in your closet. I purchases this beauty for only $15.00. This Blazer can only be found in stores! I know for a fact they have a white blazer with black piping.
Ladies this white speckled black peplum blazer can also be work as a quarter length sweater. That is right talking about 2 for one. The blazer is form-fitting and is light weight but thick enough to be worn in the spring or the first of fall season. This can be paired with color slacks, skirts, crop pants or can even be dressed down with a pair of dress jeans. I purchased this sweet peplum blazer for $20.00
This blazer screams the 3 C’s “Classic”, “Classy” and “Couture”! Yes divas this is must have to be work ready. The fabric is thick but had a bit of a shiny tinge making it pop when the sun hits it. The lapel and cuffs are outlines in a feathered fringe giving it a classy but fierce look. This Blazer is ranked as a power Blazer! Originally retailed for $60.oo I purchased this beauty for $30.00.
So this blazer can fall into the great debate category. Is this a blazer or jacket? I love how this piece can be worn as a jacket or as a blazer. I decided that it’s a great versatile piece and that I could make it work in the work place.. what do you think? This jacket is thick linen lined with suede giving it an edging but professional look. Because this color is so light and neutral I decided to pair it with a deeply skirt and snake print heels. This rough soft jacket was purchased for only $20.00. Super steal.
